EVGA nForce 790i Ultra SLI comes with other smaller features, like on-board reset and power switches, which are quite convenient for overclockers. click to enlarge Figure 4: Buzzer and reset and power switches.
This motherboard has also a POST (Power On Self Test) diagnostics display. This feature allows you to know thru a series of two-digit codes what is wrong if your computer doesn’t turn on. click to enlarge Figure 5: POST display.
This motherboard uses solid aluminum capacitors on the voltage regulator circuit, as you can see on Figure 6. This is great because it prevents the infamous capacitor leakage problem. The other electrolytic capacitors used on this motherboard, however, are regular ones, manufactured by Samxon, which is a Chinese company (Japanese capacitors are better). This motherboard also uses ferrite chokes on the voltage regulator circuit, which is great, as they provide a lower power loss. In fact we had complained that on EVGA nForce 780i motherboard the manufacturer used regular iron coils instead of ferrite ones and is always good to see whenever a manufacturer improves the quality of their products. click to enlarge Figure 6: Voltage regulator circuit.
On Figure 7 you can see I/O brackets and SLI bridges that come with this motherboard, while on Figure 8 you can see all cables that come with the product. click to enlarge Figure 7: Motherboard brackets and SLI bridges.

This motherboard comes with five SATA cables and three “Y” cables to convert any standard peripheral power plug into two SATA power plugs besides the traditional floppy disk drive flat-cable and the parallel ATA flat-cable. |
