We took a look on the prototype of OCZ’s forthcoming Vendetta 2 CPU cooler (the final commercial name can be different), a CPU cooler target to current Intel and AMD processors with aluminum fins, three copper heat-pipes and a perpendicular fan. Just like the original Vendetta CPU cooler, Vendetta 2 is in fact designed and licensed from German manufacturer Xigmatek. Let’s take a look on this prototype.

As you can see on Xigmatek’s website, Vendetta 2 looks like Xigmatek’s HDT-S1283, while the original Vendetta seems to be Xigmatek’s HDT-S963, with the OCZ model not having the “spoiler” present on the original models from Xigmatek. The main difference between Vendetta 2 and the current Vendetta is the size of the fan, which was increased to 120 mm from 92 mm. Unfortunately on the pictures we’ve taken the prototype was without its fan.

As we mentioned, Vendetta 2 will have aluminum fins and three U-shaped copper heat-pipes. The cooler base, shown on Figure 3, is also made from aluminum, but using the three heat-pipes as part of the base. So in reality the base is made half from copper and half from aluminum.

Instead of using regular screws to attach the fan to the aluminum fins, this cooler will use rubber connectors in order to reduce vibration and thus noise.

According to OCZ this product should reach the market between 6 and 8 weeks from now.
