Introduction

PowerColor released a special model of the mid-range Radeon X1600 Pro using 512 MB instead of 256 MB. We will compare its performance to other members of the Radeon X1000 series, to previous ATI chips and also with competing products from nVidia. Let’s take a look on how was the performance of this model from PowerColor.

Radeon X1600 Pro runs officially at 500 MHz and accesses its memory at 780 MHz (390 MHz DDR), transferring 128 bits per clock cycle. This model from PowerColor follows ATI’s official specs.
