Introduction
Hardware Secrets Golden Award

GeForce 7600 GT is the top mid-range GPU from nVidia and XFX has this model, PV-T43G-UDD3, which comes factory-overclocked. Let’s see how faster is this overclocked model against the regular GeForce 7600 GT and also against other products available on the market, like GeForce 7600 GS and Radeon X1600 XT.

GeForce 7600 GT normally runs at 560 MHz accessing its memory at 1.4 GHz (700 MHz DDR). This reviewed model from XFX runs at 590 MHz and accesses its memory at 1.6 GHz (800 MHz DDR). You see this factory-overclocked video card from XFX on Figure 1.

XFX currently has four GeForce 7600 GT models on their catalog:

  • PV-T73G-UDL3/7: 560 MHz clock, 1.4 GHz memory clock, 256 MB 128-bit GDDR3. A.k.a. “XFX GeForce 7600GT 256MB DDR3”. That’s XFX version for the standard GeForce 7600 GT.
  • PV-T43G-UDF3/7: 570 MHz clock, 1.45 GHz memory clock, 256 MB 128-bit GDDR3. XFX also calls this model as “XFX GeForce 7600GT 256MB DDR3”, what is very confusing, since this is a factory-overclocked card.
  • PV-T73G-UDE3/7: 580 MHz clock, 1.5 GHz memory clock, 256 MB 128-bit GDDR3. A.k.a. “XFX GeForce 7600GT 256MB DDR3 Extreme Edition”.
  • PV-T43G-UDD3/7: 590 MHz clock, 1.6 GHz memory clock, 256 MB 128-bit GDDR3. A.k.a. “XFX GeForce 7600GT 256MB DDR3 XXX Edition”. That’s the model we are covering on this review.

You can see in our tutorial “nVidia Chips Comparison Table” the difference between GeForce 7600 GT and the other chips from nVidia, while on our tutorial “ATI Chips Comparison Table” you can compare it to its competitors from ATI.

On Figures 2 and 3 you can see XFX GeForce 7600GT 256MB DDR3 XXX Edition (PV-T43G-UDD3). As you can see, its DVI connectors are lime yellow and it has a black metallic support on its top, where is written “XFX”.
